Night Watch 2009 Blurb

"It sticks with me," the developer told us in an interview, "I think about it constantly. Those empty streets. Those swinging lights. The music. It's homely, to me."

Night Watch is a surprisingly cozy game despite its unnerving themes. Rather than summarize the game to you, here are a few questions we asked the Developer, Laura Redding. Q: What brought you the idea for the game? A: Well, I used to be on my town's night-watch crew, an initiative put forward by the city back around the turn of the century. I'd spent many nights walking those paths, loving the lights but hating the ambience. I had a nightmare some years later and that lead to the first build of this game. Q: Why only six levels? A: Because I'm a small developer with no money, haha. Give me a team and maybe the sequel will have seven. Q: Did you compose the music? A: No, I recruited a friend of mine to do it, I can give you her number if you'd like. Q: What's with the Old Man? Is he inspired by someone in your hometown? A: Who? Q: The Old Man who explains the game to the player. A: I.. don't know what you're talking about, sorry. Q: Is there anything you would like your players to take away from this game? A: Ah, um- Well, don't stay up too late or you'll forget key components of your game, I guess. - GameBuster Magazine, 2009
